Historically, Outdone has shown just 12 gift recommendations to our users. The thesis behind this being that providing any more options would be counterproductive and induce analysis paralysis.

The problem was that, even with some pretty cool AI tech under the hood, the odds of identifying the best possible gift with just 12 chances proved to be incredibly hard.

So to combat this, we just rolled out a new UX. We now deliver a list of 100 great gifts—and give our users some convenient filtering options to drill down as they choose.

Filter recommendations by category, price, and brand. Save the best ones to your shortlist of Saved Recs.

Plus, by removing some filtering q's from the survey, we freed up space to pipe in some dynamic follow-up questions. With the help of an LLM, we now ask a few q's specifically tailored to your recipient.
